Book 2 Chapter 7-10

"Confession is not betrayal. What you say or do doesn’t matter: only feelings matter. If they could make me stop loving you—that would be the real betrayal." (210) I can really agree with Julia here. Feelings only matter. Confession cannot be betrayal. Words do not have meaning to it. Words will always just be words, but feeling something is really more powerful. You can only show someone you love them by feelings. If you just say I love you, but with no feelings, those words don't count. Feelings are so powerful that you can pass them on to others. For example your mothers love is something so powerful that people even you can feel it.

Book 2 Chapter 3-6

" It was only an' 'opeless fancy, It passed like an Ipril dye, But look an' a word an' the dreams they stirred They 'ave stolen my 'eart awye...They sye that time 'eals all things, They sye you can always forget; but smiles an' the tears across the years They twist my 'eartstrings yet!" (117) This was a  song composed by women that were singing it. This song describes what the party have been doing to the proles. How the party has stolen everything. "...The dreams they have stirred They 'ave stolen my 'eart awye." this part of the song is saying how they steal their dreams. They have taken over their mind; how the party is taking over them. "..,They sye that time 'eals all things, They sye you can always forge   but smiles an' the tears across the years They twist my 'eartstrings yet!"  this part of the song describes how people can alwyas forget their dreams but throughout everything it can evol...

Book 1 Chapters 7-8 & Book 2 Chapters 1-2

"Until they become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious". (61) Winston has now turned to the proles to defeat the party. He wants and is the only hope to overcome the party. He knows that the proles won't rebel against the party because they are filled with fear. The party controls their minds and everyone is to afraid to rebel or they will get vaporized. Winston also knows that they won't rebel until they are aware of their surroundings. Their eyes need to open in order for them to see how cruel they are to them. "Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows" (69) Winston thinks that freedom is when we have our own mind and by not believing what the party says. They manipulate their minds on to thinking what they want. It might be wrong but to the people it is true. So Winston is saying that freedom is the freedom to say the truth. Winst...

Book 1 Chapters 2-6

"War Is Peace, Freedom Is Slavering, Ignorance Is Strength,"(26) This quote to me is very ironic. "War is Peace" is such an Ironic quote because when we think of war the first thought that comes to mind is the opposite of peace. at least to me. We always think of weapons, blood, and violence in general. "Freedom is Slavery" is also another ironic passage because slavery is all about not having any type of freedom. Freedom has to do with having rights and being able to do what you want. Slavery is not freedom.  "Thoughtcrime does not entail death: thoughtcrime Is death"(27) When I read this quote I was totally agreeing with it because thoughtcrime is death. Thought crime is death because it is the reason why people die. they make the rules so they are death. They are responsible for the death of other. I just like how he get's straight to the point. Everything he says is true but doesn't really show it to people.  "The...
